Electrical impedance tomograph Dräger PulmoVista® 500 (EIT)
Electrical impedance tomography of the lungs is a method of continuous non-invasive monitoring of ventilation and air distribution in lung tissue in real time. The EIT system allows assessment of breathing dynamics, detection of regions of hypoventilation or overventilation, and adjustment of respiratory support parameters without radiation exposure.
Electrical impedance tomography is used in intensive care and resuscitation units to assess lung function in patients receiving mechanical ventilation or non-invasive respiratory support. Impedance tomography provides visualization of regional ventilation distribution and allows monitoring of ventilation parameters to optimize settings.
The EIT monitor makes it possible to evaluate lung response to changes in pressure, volume, and body position, and to identify early signs of collapse or overdistension of lung tissue.
The EIT system provides visualization of ventilation at the level of lung segments and lobes without the use of ionizing radiation. This allows regular adjustment of respiratory support parameters based on objective data.
The EIT system is useful in managing patients with ARDS, pneumonia, after thoracic surgery, in cases of complex breathing mechanics, and when it is necessary to minimize ventilation-related lung injury.
The selection of an EIT system depends on the clinical profile of the department, patient categories, and the need for respiratory mechanics monitoring. The tomograph must operate reliably, provide informative visualization of ventilation distribution, and integrate efficiently into existing workflows. It must also be convenient for continuous use during mechanical ventilation adjustment.
For intensive care units, continuous EIT monitoring in real time is essential, as it enables adjustment of ventilation parameters based on objective information. The EIT system must ensure stable measurements and provide data that helps prevent collapse or overdistension of lung tissue.
The electrical impedance tomograph is supplied directly from the manufacturer with official warranty and service support. Assistance is provided during system implementation and staff training. Further technical maintenance is available to ensure stable and safe equipment operation.
